Punta Cana Real Estate at this time includes Bavaro, Punta Cana, and Cap Cana. All three areas are on the east coast of the Dominican Republic. They are each served by the Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). On one side of the airport is a VIP terminal for private jets and smaller aircraft. The drive to Punta Cana village and the Puntacana Resort & Club is just a few minutes east. The drive to both Bavaro to the north and Cap Cana to the south is about 20 minutes by car or taxi. Each of the three areas described above have similar features, but can vary in lifestyle.
BAVARO is the northern most community in the Punta Cana area. It also boasts of beaches that have white, fine sand and tropical forests of an intense green that contrasts with the turquoise hues along the coast. Its golf courses provide golf lovers with a chance to experience unforgettable moments in an incomparable Caribbean setting. A popular residential and vacation community is the Cocotal Golf and Country Club. The villas and condominiums in Bavaro are more moderate in size, and in turn, more moderate in price. There is no sacrifice in quality however. This area has condominiums as small as 1-bedroom and villas as large as 8 bedrooms. Bavaro is a great place for people who both live and vacation in this area and has beautiful homes for the retirement lifestyle as well.
PUNTACANA RESORT & CLUB – This resort community has had a presence in the Dominican Republic for over 40 years. It is a low density development designed for first and second home usage. CAP CANA is a tourism development with an investment of upwards of two billion dollars in the Eastern Dominican Republic, an area known for its hotels and beaches. Cap Cana includes more than 45 square miles of land, and includes 5 miles of beach and coasts. The Marina at Cap Cana is a fully operational luxury marina, and scheduled to be the biggest inland marina in the Caribbean, with a total of 1500 boat slips. The marina has berths for yachts up to 250 feet and is surrounded by elegant shops and gourmet restaurants. Punta Espada golf course was opened 2007 and is the first of several golf courses in Cap Cana. It is a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. In 2008, 2009 & 2010 Punta Espada hosted the Cap Cana Championship, (Part of the PGA Champions Tour). Punta Espada is a dream come true for golfers, and the course has been ranked as #1 in the Caribbean & Latin America by Golf Magazine for the past 4 years running.
In addition to the beaches, golf and numerous other activities, Cap Cana will soon be known as the top location for an Equestrian Lifestyle in the Caribbean.
